MarkNode is free to use, with optional paid plans for commercial users and those who want cloud features. This page covers what is included at each tier, how to sign in, and where to manage your subscription.
The Three Tiers

Signing In
Click the account avatar in the sidebar to open the Account dialog, then choose Sign in. This starts an OAuth flow — your browser opens to complete authentication, and once you confirm, MarkNode picks up the result automatically.
After signing in:
- Any Pro license or Ultimate subscription tied to your account is activated.
- The sidebar avatar shows your account initials; your name and email appear in the Account dialog.
- If you have multiple MarkNode windows open, they all update to reflect the signed-in state immediately.
Signing in is required to activate a Pro license or use Ultimate cloud features, but is not required for Free use. You can keep using MarkNode at the Free tier indefinitely without an account.
Buying Pro or Ultimate
Open the Account dialog from the account avatar in the sidebar and choose Get Pro to buy a Pro commercial-use license — this opens the secure checkout on cloud.marknode.com. Ultimate is a subscription: start it from the pricing page or when MarkNode prompts you on a cloud feature.
- Pro is a one-time purchase. When checkout completes, your license is tied to your signed-in account and activates immediately.
- Ultimate is a subscription with yearly or monthly plans. Cloud and hosted AI features unlock as soon as the subscription is active.
On the macOS App Store build, Pro is sold through in-app purchase, and you can restore a previous purchase if you reinstall MarkNode on a new Mac.
The Account Dialog
Open the Account dialog by clicking the avatar in the sidebar. It shows:
- Your Account Name
- Your Account ID (the email you are signed in with)
- Your License Type
- Your subscription Expiry Date, when applicable
- Refresh, Sign Out, and Close buttons
Use Refresh to re-check your license after a purchase. You can sign out at any time; after signing out, MarkNode falls back to Free-tier features until you sign in again.
Updates
MarkNode checks for application updates in the background. On direct-download builds you can install an update from Check for Updates in the MarkNode menu (macOS) or the File menu (Windows/Linux). Updates apply on the next launch.
All users receive app updates. Pro license holders receive lifetime updates. New features land in the existing app.
Sending Feedback
To send feedback to the MarkNode team, choose Help > Submit Feedback…. A small form opens inside the app with fields for your email (required, so we can reply) and a comment, plus an option to include diagnostic logs to help us investigate.
For bug reports it helps to include your operating system version and the MarkNode version, shown under About (in the MarkNode menu on macOS, or the Help menu on Windows/Linux).
